CBS Consulting was appointed to design replacement boiler plant and improve energy efficiency. A range of phased projects included voltage optimisation and heat recovery from chiller plant to provide heating for a new auite of offices. A further heat recovery installation is now at design stage to provide heating to the retail area.

CBS Consulting was appointed address heating issues in the main hall area as fuel bills were high but heating poor. The system was found to be lacking the required controls and safety provisions. The control system designed by CBS now heats the space effectively and has improved efficiency by over 70%.

Following detailed design a conversion from oil to high efficiency condensing gas boilers was put in place within a 1 week time frame (including underground gas services). This forms the first stage of an eventual underfloor heating installation in the building.
Running costs are estimated to drop by 40% whilst the building can now be comfortably heated at all times.

Savings of up to 30% in gas usage have been achieved through improved boiler controls and electricity usage on the site reduced from 2-4% for 'zero' investment. Trials are now underway on energy efficiency maintenance free warehouse lighting and we are investigating the viability of renewable technologies for use on the site.

CBS Consulting was appointed to carried out an energy efficiency survey to identify means of reducing electricity usage.
A number of proposals were made with potential savings of up to 40% in electricity usage. The first phase incorporating low energy LED lighting and high efficiency fluorescent lighting is complete reducing lighting energy usage by approximately 75% with a 10-20% increase in levels over original levels.
